Safety Tips

Safety tips on use of the Puck.

    1. These wonderful little pucks work best when fully liquefied.  Please do not leave them burning for more than a few hours.

    2.  Please do not leave unattended.  Terracotta burners become very hot, do not place within easy reach of children or pets.  Never move the set when molten.

    3. Do not heat on stove or microwave.  Place the puck in the top bowl of a dry burner.  Never add water.  Light an unscented tea light and place in the center underneath.  Do not allow the flame to touch the underside of the melt pot.

    4. Occasionally, some light steam is normal, but if you notice that a puck is smoking blow the candle out, (do not move it) and relight only when cool.  Sometimes, tea lights can have different length wicks, by trimming them a wee bit, the burner will not get as hot.  As with all candles please do not burn longer than 2-3 hours at a time.

    5. When the level of scent throw has diminished, it's time for a new fragrance.  When the puck has fully hardened, twist the puck using your fingertips, if it still won't release, light the tea light for a few seconds, and gently push downwards on the edge of the puck.  It will pop out easily, and you're ready to begin anew.
